Timeless and delightful,

the bow has long been a cherished motif in fine jewellery,

consistently remaining in vogue.

This particular piece is a prime example of jewellery,

crafted in France in1840’s, during the reign of Louis Philippe I

With exceptional attention to details,

the brooch is highly detailed & elaborate

Slightly & elegantly asymmetric,

it is performed in 18K solid yellow gold,

lavishly decorated in polychrome enamel,

featuring red, green, golden & white colours,

that beautifully compliment the yellow gold

Enamelling work is in amazing condition,

It features intricate fleur-de-lis & ribbon motifs

Brooch is finely engraved in similar pattern

The piece features French hallmarks: Eagle (facing right) & Boar -

whose head positions indicate the period it was made

in Paris between 1838 & 1847.

The brooch further features an indistinct maker’s mark

It secures to the reverse with hinged pin & hook

The brooch is of rather impressive size: 53mm x 27mm
