This Antique Edwardian set of hand-held Mirror & Brush is a rare find 
and a fascinating piece of the early XX century history of England
 
Both items feature a sterling silver mounted frame
with tortoiseshell backing,
finely decorated with delicate silver piqué inlay in a neoclassical design
of garlands, ribbons, and a central classical medallion. 
 
The style is reflecting the refined neoclassical revival aesthetic 
popular circa 1890–1910. 
 
The silver mount bears English hallmarks,
including the lion passant for sterling silver, 
London assay office mark, along with a date letter and 
maker’s mark“W.C.” for William Comyns
 
It forms part of a high-quality English vanity set, 
appreciated for its elegant materials, piqué workmanship, and period craftsmanship.
