This Antique Edwardian hand-held Mirror a is a rare find and
a fascinating piece of the early XX century history of England
It features a sterling silver mounted frame with tortoiseshell backing,
finely decorated with delicate silver piqué inlay in a neoclassical design
of garlands, ribbons, and a central classical medallion.
The style is reflecting the refined neoclassical revival aesthetic
popular circa 1890–1910.
The silver mount bears English hallmarks,
including the lion passant for sterling silver,
London assay office mark,
along with a date letter for 1904 and
maker’s mark“W.C.” for William Comyns
