This Violin Bow is in style of one of the most renowned English bow makers - James Tubbs (1835 – 1921) -
who's often called "The English Tourte".
He and his son Alfred produced more than 5,000 bows.
James Tubbs ranks among the five or six most important bow makers in history,
and his bows are very desirable, highly sought after & collectable.
This bow is of German trade origin, dating from 1930's.
It comprises a round pernambuco stick with silver mounted ebony frog, decorated with pearl eyes
(which is one of the typical characteristic of his work);
the adjuster of ebony, fully sheathed in nickel silver
It weighs 59.5gr.
