This important Antique centre second Flyback Chronograph
Pocket Watch by Nicole, Nielsen & Co dates back to circa 1864,
retailed by Mac Donnell & Co, Sydney (signed to the dial)
It is an ultimate collector’s item - used to belong to William (Bill) Bradshaw.
Invented & patented by A. Nielsen,
a flyback chronograph is a type of watch that
enables the chronograph function to be reset and
restarted instantly with a single button press.
Designed as a Double Hunter,
the piece is centring a white porcelain regulator format dial,
featuring original hands, subsidiary seconds at 9 o'clock,
hour indication subsidiary dial at 3 o'clock
Measuring 53mm, 18K Yellow Gold Case,
with single pusher chronograph and patent Nicole Nielsen setting,
has both lids numbered 7602 (same number is on a movement),
bearing 18K gold stamp & English (London) hallmarks:
crown, leopard head, letter date (1864) &
sponsor’s mark “A.N.” – Adolphe Nielsen –
