This scarce c1956 IWC Stainless Steel wristwatch is

powered by the celebrated 21-jewel Calibre 852 Automatic Movement,

one of IWC's most respected Pellaton winding calibres –

featuring an ingenious bi-directional winding system

Bearing movement no. 1364039, the watch dates to year 1956,

placing it among the earliest generation of IWC's automatic anti-magnetic wristwatches &

the first-generation Ingenieur series,

adding further historical significance and collector appeal.

Housed in a robust 36.5 mm screw-back CASE, no. 1397897

the watch retains its original soft iron anti-magnetic inner cover

(Faraday cage) –

a sophisticated feature developed to shield the movement from magnetic fields and

associated with IWC's professional anti-magnetic watches of the period.

Completed by original crown

The understated silvered original DIAL is signed “International” &

fitted with applied luminous baton hour markers,

matching dauphine hands and a sweep centre seconds hand,

displaying an attractive, even patina acquired over decades of careful use.

& in excellent working order
